Get Connected Community Broadband

A not for profit project

Broadband should be available to everyone and for an affordable price.

Back in 2018 Hartlepower a community company based in Hartlepool began research into how to make this possible.

The research continued and the project grew momentum wth a fantastic collaboration of organisations including, The Joseph Rowntree Foundation, RCVDA, High Tide Group, The Wharton Trust and The Better ConNEcted campaign initiative.

In December 2020 the project connected it’s first homes in Hartlepool, providing broadband to shielding residents and giving them access to their families via video call.

The Get Connected Project officially launched in January 2021, providing each customer with a broadband internet router with Wi-Fi to connect devices.

Mobile Phone

Get Connected Community Broadband

How does it work?

Unlike normal broadband we use the same network that mobile phones connect to.
Providing there is a reasonable 4G mobile signal available in your area the Get Connected router can be plugged into a mains socket and will instantly provide an Internet Wi-Fi signal for devices to connect to.
This means you can be connected in the time it takes us to deliver your router - usually 2-3 days.
